My name is Thomas Ashby and I was elected to Witney Town Council in May 2019, re-elected in 2023, elected to West Oxfordshire District Council in 2023 and elected to Oxfordshire County Council in 2025.

I have grown up in West Witney and attended West Witney Primary School, as well as The Henry Box School in the centre of town.  I am incredibly proud to still be living in our ward, as I believe it is one of the best in the town.  

​

As well as a Councillor on the Town Council, I am also a Scout Leader for Langel Scout Troop, Explorer Scout Leader and Trustee at Witney Buttercross Scout Group.  Having been involved in Scouting for 18 years, I am passionate to bring new direction to youth services, and engage with our younger community so that everyone has a voice.

Ultimately, improving our community is absolutely vital for me and this is something I continue to work on a daily basis.  Whether this includes supporting small businesses and charities, knocking on doors at the weekend or being a strong voice for you at the Town, District & County Council, I continue to do my best for the great of our community.
