Earlier this year, Witney's Conservative Town Councillors secured £20,000 for a Youth Services Fund, to help organisations in Witney to deliver youth services.

The Chair of Witney Town Council's Stronger Community Committee, Cllr Thomas Ashby, worked alongside other Councillors and Officers to review grant applications. The following organisations have been allocated funding:
Witney Buttercross Scout Group - £3500
Friends of Springfield School - £2850
4th Witney Girl Guides - £1000
Parish of Witney - £2500
Bright Futures - £3648
West Oxfordshire Levellers - £1000
Witney Food Revolution - £2150
Yellow Submarine - £2000
In addition, the Committee agreed to award the following organisations funding from the Discretionary Grants fund:
Ducklington Sports Club - £1700
Tower Hill FC - £1000
Witney Town Band (Juniors) - £1500
These organisations provided strong grant applications, clearly outlining ways in which they will build on existing services or provide new services for young people in Witney and the surrounding areas.
Cllr Thomas Ashby said, "When I started to read the quality of these applications, I was incredibly moved. I know first-hand the time and the effort so many local people put into running youth services, so to see these quality applications was very moving. The passion, dedication and support we see from those delivering services in this sector are profound; which is why I was delighted to secure £20,000 for a Youth Services Grant Fund this year. Congratulations to all those who have been granted funds towards their youth services, the young people of Witney really will recieve the best possible guidance, support and opportunities to thrive because of you. I am so proud that we can fund these applications, as they will help build a brighter future for all of our young people in our community."
