Vehicle Activated Speed Sign Coming to Downs Road

As you know, I have been working with Curbridge Parish Council to get a vehicle activated speed sign installed on the Downs Road.
Oxfordshire County Council emailed on Tuesday stating that they have the sub-contractor ready for an installation, however, they did not have a sign ready. Well, here is one that is currently redundant on the Curbridge Road - this is because this road is now 20MPH.

I informed the County Council that this unit could be moved to the Downs Road and their Highways Team agreed. Therefore, work is now underway to get this sign moved from Curbridge Road onto the Downs Road.

This sign on the Downs Road will remind drivers of the 30MPH limit if they are exceeding the speed.
I like to take a common sense approach to speed limits. 20MPH is fine on housing estates, outside schools & hospitals etc. Anywhere else (as we have seen with the Lib-Dem, Labour & Green implementation) isn't practical.
Overall, this is a good result for residents and another example of a local person working with local people to make our local area a safer place.
In order for continued strong delivery and a truly local councillor, Vote Thomas Ashby on Thursday 1st May. I represent you all year round, not just during the election period.
